About Us

In 2015, our organization The Harding Ford Vision, Inc was founded, (THFV). Our program offers services primarily to individuals in the South Jamaica Community. Thanks to the Church of God in Christ Jesus of the Apostles’ Faith, Inc for the foundation they laid for our program. They allowed us now to impact many thousands of lives in the community each month. Our goal is to reach beyond the community and continue our mission by providing health and wellness to underserved individual in the community.

Bishop Alfonzo Brown & Virginia Brown

In 1990 on 160th Street and Jamaica Avenue, Alfonzo Brown and Virginia Brown began their weekly community out-reach by serving bread from the back of their pick-up truck. Through the commitment and partnership of Tom Cat Bakery and City Harvest their vision to serve the community, in 1996 the food pantry was established and quickly grew as the need for services escalated. In the beginning the 501 c3 non-profit structure of the food pantry was The Church of God in Christ Jesus of the Apostles’ Faith, Inc. The growth of the food program exceeded the expectations of many, and we established a 501 c3 non-profit corporation titled “The Harding Ford Vision, Inc.” This separation gave the church the opportunity to develop various services for the community.
